(If Quicktime does not appear in the list of programs, click 'Other. Browse to the location of the Quicktime program. Double-click on it).

I am not sure Quicktime can play all types of video files.
Quicktime was created by Apple so it mainly plays MOV files that was an Apple format..
It may play others but there are certainly some it CANT play.
VLC tends to be the best video player for playing the widest range of formats.
