Working week starts on Friday ?

Does anyone work where their working week begins on Friday and ends on Thursday ?
This has been introduced from Jan 1st and is a nightmare with us,
Nightshift begins on Sunday night through to Thursday night and could have Friday night as an overtime shift - so we get 5 days pay in one week and the Friday pay is paid a week later !
Afternoons starts on Monday, through to Friday, so we could only have 4 days pay one week and the Friday is paid one week later !
Day shift begins on Monday through to Friday - so we get one day at afternoon rate and 4 days at day rate !
Confused ? - then be thankful you don't work here !

I'm not clear what's so bad about it. Is it any worse than having to work a month before you get any money?
