When was the last time a song climbed to no. 1 in the British charts instead of going straight in at no. 1? When was the last time a song was knocked off of the top spot and then it went back to no. 1? How many no. 1s have there been? What's the average time a no. 1 spends at there?

try this web site for all answers relating to British Hit Singles........http://everyhit.com/
or alternately you could try www.britishhitsingles.com the home of the official guinness site...and up to 22nd Dec 2001 there had been 916 no1's.
The last no.1 to climb there was Can We Fix It? by Bob The Builder (though DJ Otzi's Hey Baby was also listed as a climber because of a bug in the chart computer which meant it couldn't tell the UK issue from the import). The last song to climb back to no1 was Gotta get Thru This by Daniel Bedingfield just over a year ago.
