My period is always regular, but this past couple of months i have had spotting a few days before my actual period. Is this normal? Had a smear test done about 6months ago and it came back ok.

How old are you?

Sometimes my periods take a couple of days before they really start, and now only last 3 days max. They do slow down as you get older.

Im 23. My period started on Monday and finished yesterday but I had the spotting since last friday
My periods went haywire at exactly the same age, and completely stopped for 5 months. I was convinced I was expecting and shelled out for a scan at the Priory in Edgbaston. In the end they started up again and I was having periods every fortnight. Sometimes it happens. But speak to your GP to allay any fears.

If you have had a clear smear, then there shouldn't be anything to worry about.
