Is there a shortage of gnomes in this country?
I've been a gnome collector for many years and have noticed recently that there is not many around anymore.

You can bet they'll come a time when they're ' rediscovered' and then old ones will suddenly appear on the market .at enormous prices,no doubt,and new ones will fill the retail outlets We've seen it in other areas, from stevengraphs to Clarice Cliff, and we'll see it again.Strange thing, but you can go decades without seeing some objects at auction, then suddenly one or two fetch a price and magically hundreds appear.
Yes,smudge, I saw an art deco standard lamp fetch tens of thousands at auction, sold to a Japanese bank when art deco was coming' in' and the Japanese were big buyers.My mother had had the identical one.I asked 'What happened to that lamp?' and got the laconic reply 'Oh, that. I chucked that out years ago.Valuable?If I'd kept everything on the off-chance it would be valuable years later, I'd have needed a warehouse the size of Pickford's' [ Me :GROAN !] But she had a point.
