I always take a chinese, the nearest chinese to my parents is a good hour away (they live in the middle of nowhere) and they really love the food from the local chinese close to where we live, its a special treat for them, other than that i eat the local produce, especially the fresh oysters and mussels and langoustines.

Same here, Webbo. I prefer the local food to English food on the whole. But you do need some basic essentials, such as tea bags etc. Funnily enough there's Indian and Nepalese restaurants round here which far surpass anything I find in my home town.
You didn't answer, why did you take a joint of beef with you on holiday, or was that a joke?
Not me. I like to try something different.

Hiya Cab... so you could even live without a decent cup of tea?
My husband's mum used to take instant mash and bisto gravy to make up on the beach for him and his sis to eat!!! Lmao - who the hell wants to eat that on hol especially on a hot beach!
Ohhh Webbo...you've just reminded me I have oysters in the fridge :-)
ummmm... can you even get a boiled ham in your suitcase?
I'm sure I could find one that fits in.

I've never taken anything on holiday.

I want oysters now....
Oysters eh? Lucky Ging... if he can stay awake long enough ;-p
He's been asleep all day. He came home from work about 12...went for a bath and we haven't seen him since.
Blimey... go get him out. He'll be all white and shrivelled by now...

...a bit like an oyster...
He's in bed wrapped in towels....shall I open the windows?
No.. open the towels and make his day ;-p
lol...Nope.
I used to work at an airport on security and at Christmas
we x-rayed frozen turkeys ,crackers, and puddings but
most people took t-bags , marmite, and sliced bread !!!
