However, ITV aired all five 1 hour episodes over one week which was their battle to win viewers from the BBC who were showing the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics!
I love the programme although I wasn't overkeen on the TV series that followed the mini-series.
I remember it - it was famous for having Robert Englund as a dopey earthling-loving Eugene-type - before he went on to star as Freddie in the 'Elm Street' series.
It seemed quite exciting at the beginning, but then the focus went onto bitching, big hair, and shoulder-pads, and it morphed into a kind of Dynasty-in-Space ....
V played a lot on fascism and nazism - even the Visitors 'logo' was kind of like a swastika/Hakenkreuz (hooked cross).
I mostly enjoyed the 'Final Battle' episodes with Ham Tyler (Michael Ironside) and his bearded buddy Chris Faber (kind of like mercenaries). And of course all the girls fancied Mike Donovan whilst the guys fancied Julie Parish! (I think that was their names anyway!!)
What was the name of the friendly 'Visitor' who was a high ranking fifth columnist? He had a twin brother that showed up in the TV series.
