I've had to format my laptop

using the manufacturers recovery programme built into the laptop. I have done this before and MyDocuments and MyPictures stayed last time i am sure. This time the files are still there but it is saying they are not accessible. The path us
C:\My old Disk Structure (then the date of the format) then the original file name and then access denied.

How do I access those files please?

Hi , i understand the process to recover the files under my previous administrator but it says i need the windows xp disc, ther laptop came with a niorebook disc but not anm XP disc, so not sure whether i should go ahead with the f12 thing. I'll read a few other ideas on your link., thanks, at least i know what is wrong now.
