I remember when 'Danish' loaves first appeared in the 1950s. It was a name given to a newly introduced bread recipe that proved to be very popular, having a lighter and fluffier texture compared to other white breads at the time. Warburton's appear to produce only the small loaf, but other bakeries make the bigger 800gm size.
