NEW DEAL with the job centre plus
6 Answers
Hi
Can anyone help me with this problem, I think the job centre will be putting me on the programme NEW DEAL. ive been on this programme before and it didnt help me at all and was kinda useless.
I know I will have to do it or they will take my Job seekers allowance away but I am currently in education for 1 day a week. so can anyone tell me what will happen if I am not available on that day
I am not going to quit the course I do to please the job centre as the qualiifcation I am studying is a good one.
Will I have my JSA stopped?

You don't say your age but I guess you are being put onto the ND18-24 programme. This is designed to give younger people (some of whom have never had a job, 11 years into a Labour Government that put huge resources into it) job experience, training or a combination of both. So it is likley they will want more of a commitment from you than your current offer to do a training course one day per week.
