OMG I can laugh about it now but he has just fallen all the way down the stairs carrying our 6 week old baby. I was in the kitchen, heard a shout and banging then crash went the stairgate! He was laid on the floor, still holding baby thank f*ck, writhing in agony unable to get up. Our 5yr old then appears and screams "is he dead?" and bursts into tears!
They are both ok now apart from he has a very bruised and swollen body. Just as I'm sat gripping hold of our baby tightly with my jelly like arms thinking how much worse it could have been, our daughter then pipes up with "if daddy had gone head first, Luke would be dead and we'd have to wait ages for another baby"!
Christ I need a drink now!

I fell down the stairs (from about halfway) when I was pregnant. I didn't bump my bump, but phoned the doctor to be safe. they said the baby would get an adrenalin rush.. I think being jolted around may well be dangerous for a baby, even if there are no bumps or bruises.
tigwig -they werent horrible -just to put your mind at ease -just banter as often happens on threads.
Im glad everything is fine -I did think you were in shock i have to say due to the nature of your post but I daresay once the shock kicked in you felt differently.Happens to us all and we deal in different ways x
I fell over holding my 2 week old. I couldn't land so smashed my face off the sideboard. It wasn't a pretty sight....

I laugh about it now....

The reason I can laugh about it now is because apart from hubby's back being literally black and blue, no one was hurt. God forbid if anyone was hurt I wouldn't be able to laugh about it at all, I'm not a complete nutter!!
Sara I also fell down the stairs when I was pregnant too! So this is the 2nd time the poor babies experienced it! He was fine then too.
Tigwig, you don't have to explain yourself! I'm sure those of us with with an ounce of common sense knew exactly what you meant.

Like I said, Just ignore the others- they added 2+2 and came to 73- bless them!

But the child wasn't injured Eddie, whilst I do believe what happened to you did infact happen, I don't think there's any concern regarding tigwigs child. Yours fell down the stairs by itself, her's didn't.
