War - seems to me a problem with no solution

So there is thing called war - lots of countries take part in it, but I think it is wrong. Seems I have plenty of solutions (sports, disarmemant etc) but no one takes them seriously or wants to listen.

Oh well -since there is no solution (after all we - the human race - have been at war for many thousands of years) guess I shoud be supporting it then!

War - what is it good for - quite a lot actually!

The excuses for war have changed a bit. It used to be 'The fuzzy-wuzzies are spearing our cattle, so we must show we can wipe them out.' Now it's 'Iraq has lots of oil but we can't say that, so let's pretend they have lots of WMD and can wipe us out.' Just as the War Office is now the Ministry of 'Defence', so we now have to claim that we are under attack before we go to war. It's similar, I think, to the way teams before a big match all like to claim that they are the underdogs (you did mention sport, vic).

Its so true. funny, tho, how there are many, many peaceful and prosperous countries around the world who do not war with others and yet don't get invaded and manage to carry on quite successfully thank you very much.
