I would have thought that foremost the most important part of the strategy, would be to protect the lives of his own countries lives. But then we all know that our politicians always class foreign lives more important.

Many of our troops stand to loose their lives because of this stupid Defence Secretary Bob Ainsworth. I don't suppose he has ever donned an uniform in his life, unless of course it was a cub scout uniform.

What country would warn their enemy that an attack against them was imminent? It was a good job that we didn't tell Hitler that we were about to launch D-Day.

If memory serves, we did warn Hitler that D-Day was imminent, and if you want to be funny, there's only one 'O' in lose. ;-))

We might guess that an increase in men and evident indications of activity preparing for a big assault would come to the notice of the enemy, told or not.
What's more puzzling is the TV report that said that individuals, identified as scouts radioing information from 500 metres from our position, could not be 'taken out' because of 'the rules of engagement'. Granted the enemy might know enough basic information without them, but there's no need to make it easier by providing details..
