woodburning stoves turns white!

My cast iron woodburning stoves has got white patches on it where the paint is discolouring! It is not a cheap stove and a good make- stovax. We have tried to blacken it with the manafacturers black polish and this lasts for a few times of lighting. The stove is approx 2 years old. Can anyone tell me why it is doing this- we no that its the heat but my last one didnt do it and what we could use on it to stop it from happening!

I think it's been caused by overheating, watch your welded joints.

Mybe something else being made in china, i would complain to the manufacturer we accept to much rubbish in this country, its like the amount of exploding glass oven doors, and what do trading standards do sweet F/ALL

I would take it up with the manufacturer. It probably is not still under guarantee, but you still have rights in that the stove is not suitable for it's normal purpose.

Our woodburner is now 30 years old and has never discoloured. We are after getting a new one - I shall now avoid Stovax.
