I acquired one of the Woolworths Laptops last night

http://www.woolworths.co.uk/wwstore/product.jhtml?op=det ails&product=50457714&op=details

I'd like to use my NTL broadband connection to surf la t'internet wirelessly on laptop.. Could someone have a quick scan on Amazon or wherever and tell me what I need? Router etc.. Also I'd like to be on USB if possible instead of ethernet..

*clueless*

Thank you!

I would definately recommend the Netgear DG834G wireless DSL modem/router. Which is:

I use this at home and think it's fantastic bit of kit. I also use it to setup peoples home / small office wireless networks as a job - and have had no complaints at all.

And is it ok with NTL? Apparently some are better with BT and some are better with NTL... Will I need one of these wireless adaptors too?

For sure you will require a wireless adapter for all the PC's that you want to have connected to the wireless network. I recommend the Netgear product range. They are great value (www.netgear.com).

This router is good if you have a BT line. If you have any sort of Cable line, you will need to connect the Cable modem to the router. If this is what you need, I recommend the following Netgear router: http://www.netgear.com/products/details/WGR614.php

It is very similar, just as reliable, but can be used for houses with Cable modems. You will still need wireless adapters for all PC's connecting to the network.

I have NTL Broadband and use an Actiontec wireless router which was recommended on the NTL website.Compared to other wrieless routers it was quite expensive (100), but it works great.
