microsoft groove
6 Answers
I have loaded microsoft office 2007 onto my laptop and there is something as part of this called groove. I dont use this put it persists in opening up as soon as I switch the computer on. I cannot find out how to prevent this happening. It isnt a problem as such, you can shut it down easily enough but its just an annoyance. Looked in help but not very helpful. How do I shut this thing down permanently.

Just in case anyone else tries to access it. Still not succeeded in removing this pesky programme tried the run, msconfig but still it persists. May have to live with it, dont want any problems arising
No report from my Eset Smart Security either.
There's no way I would post a link to a dodgy site.
Here's a summary of how to remove Groove
Control Panel
Go to Add/Remove Programs (Programs and Features in Vista and Win7)
Locate Microsoft Office 2007 and click the change button
Choose Add or Remove Features
Locate Groove
Click on the plus to get the choices
Choose Not Available on This Computer
Click Continue, and follow through to the end.

managed to get rid of it finally. Dont know why my antivirus software called an alert on this site, tried it again just to see and did it again. I have norton latest version, I know some people dont like it, have tried AV and it caused be huge problems receiving e-mail into outlook. No matter what I did couldnt solve it. Norton was on offer so installed that, havent had any problems of any kind since then - other than a false positive. Better a false positive I suppose rather than the other way around
