we are a small business who get quite a lot of faxes

we bought a brother 2820 fax machine a couple of years ago. recently it has started chewing up the paper (and seams to be getting gradually worse)

any ideas as it wastes quite a lot of paper and toner

or any recomendations for a decent plain paper fax not the cheapest but a decent one for reasonable money

Sorry I not massively clued up on these but I wanted to put my 2 penth in.

I have a brother MFC 5840CN I bought it from Viking a couple of years ago at least we send and receive tons of faxes everyday, and had know problems with it.

Main feature is it's an all in one copy, print, fax and scan, even though you might already have these else where the office as u might already know it is good to have stand in machines when things go belly up, and it just helps day to day to not be fighting over the same machines.

Even though I am not very good at IT I have the machine attached to a small network which has two pcs on it so we can both print to this Brother as well as the other brother black and white printer we have.

Never chews up, does make noise when run out of paper though but thats no big problem, it takes black ink and 3 other colours but of course u can just select to print mono chrome in the print page if you want.

I buy the ink from Viking when the prices are at the best and stock up.
I would recommend a Konica Minolta 131f, it copies, faxes and has never gone wrong for me!! Konica Minolta arn't cheap but there machines are high quality...

where abouts are you based? i can put you in touch with just the person!

I would personally recommend you don't get another fax machine.

Use a computer with a modem in it and a bit of software like activefax ( http://www.actfax.com/ ) to receive the faxes and they get delivered to users desktops on their computers

Then you only have to actually use paper and print the ones you really need a hard copy of.

thanks

sounds like a good idea

we get a lot of junk faxes

drinks machines etc

we do "fax" from the pc but always get them back by fax
Try to have online faxing. This one's cost effetive. You can send multiple faxes without the hassle of feeding it to your machine. visit www.internetfax101.com for more information.
Aside from subscribing internet fax, choose a fax machine with all-in-one fucntion. But for me, ill go for internet fax, no hardware needed, no maintenance, very affordable and saves fax supplies a lot. You can preview faxes before printing it. Visit ringcentral site for more details.
Internet or online faxing seems the right solution for you. Previewing the faxes before printing saves a lot of fax resources. Besides, it is more secured that traditional faxing.
