Applying for Saturday jobs

Can anyone help?

My daughter is applying for Saturday jobs. She has done her CV but not sure how to word the cover letter to go with it. She wants to distribute her copies to all the shops.

Each letter should:
- refer to the specific shop (rather than look like a standard letter sent to anyone),
-should say what type of work she is looking for (making it clear it's Saturdays),
- why she wants to work for this particular shop
- in a sentence or two why she would be idealy suited for the role

The letter should be well written, with proper grammar and punctuation. It should also be brief and to the point. Use god quality paper.

Best she does some footwork when shops are open & leaves CV for those interested.

Employers prefer to see & talk to potential staff.

I agree with tamborine, an employer would much rather meet a future employee especially the age of your daughter. They won't be looking for experience but on how clean and presentable the person is. Make sure she's wearing clean clothes, has clean well brushed hair, not too much make-up, little jewellery and above all a lovely smile.

if you don't mind me asking, has she finished her gcses or going into year 11? if she is going into year 11 even if she is 16 today she will still need a work permit. Its probably not an issue but i just thought i'd ask seeing as many people who have finished their gcses have probably already got jobs.
