Hi Gary  -  News of The World, Sundays, Standard Size General Knowledge, 100 prize.
Me again  -  Try Private Eye sometime Gary.  Off the newsstand @ 1.40 every fortnight (or subscribe).  Worth the money for the cartoons alone!  This crossword is quite hard and you'd be unlikely to crack it first time, until you get into the mind of Cyclops, the compiler.  Toilet humour at its best, 100 prize.
Hi GaryYou could try the new 2-in-1 Sunday Tel.Crossword ( in the Review section).Where do you live-some Regional dailiesand Sundays have interesting prizecrosswords; I know of some.

thanx for the info johnalex.I used to do the people crossword but it's not worth doing, now that I have found other sunday newspapers with bigger prizes.I won 100 pounds last week on the daily express crossword but have still to win the BIG one.

Thanx masonbm for the info.I live in Atherton, Manchester. I do the Bolton evening news saturday prize crossword and I'm not aware of any other local paper with prize crosswords. The manchester evening news used to do a saturday one but stopped a few years ago.

Gary,

The Saturday issue of the Daily Record (Scottish paper widely available in UK) has a straightforward (but large) crossword for 500.

thanx panurge. Bought it this morning along with Independent, Guardian and Telegraph. The Telegraph general knowlwdge crossword is harder but has a bigger prize.I'd rather win 200 pounds than a pen, champagne or dictionary. Anyway, these will keep me busy till the sunday papers come out.I do the Sunday Express and Mail crosswords, 5 in all and usually end up knackered by the end of the evening.

Happy solving - FERGOL

Sorry panurge. must explain the different name. I've been using my sons user name over the last couple of days because I cound'nt use my own due to a glitch in my computer. So GaryB & Fergol have been me.
