need to find out my employment history dates for new job but some jobs were only for a couple of months while i was around 16 yrs old is it important to put these down ? as i can't remember when they were and how long? nicola

I know it's rude to ask a lady's age (even for another girl to ask it!) but the age you are now will have a bearing on the answer to this. 

One easy way to get out of the is to put the years in the "time" column, and then in the details column "Various part-time jobs including x,y,z" (x,y,z = waitress, shop assistant etc etc). 

I speak of columns because I've been advised by my careers service at uni that a table style (note - style, not ACTUALLY a table) CV can make an efficient lay out.  Of course you know that potential employers want to get the info as quickly as poss - so a good lay out is vital. 

Anyway - my answer is - lump them all together under "various".  Do reveal your age to us though - it will help us to help you!

just dont include them if u were 16, unless they are particulaly important for experience to your new job. just say u were at school and then say what jobs u have been longer at and approx month and year

Not wishing to seem to challeng T4F - I'd just like to say that if you think hard enough, most jobs that people do at 16 help them to develop skills that are relevant - team work, customer care, time management etc.  That's why I suggested to lump them together. 

That said - if they are entirely irrelevant then of course T4F's advice is very good indeed! :-)
