Are our lives so shallow that they have to be lived via Eastenders, Coronation Street and Emmerdale? I realise we all need escapeism, but they are all downers. Escape should be for the better, not more depression?
Cas they repeat those now on R 7 - I still enjoy them and Round the Horne, Beyond our Ken. But do you remember Jack Train - 'Oh its Saturday!' and Uncle Max - 'Goodbye Children, everywhere'. I am 34 (in poor light) :-)
Wrong Moucha. I do remember Uncle Max on childrens favourites. He always played " I love to go a wandering along the mountain track" try again with the name.
Do you remember the vent act Savine - he had a little school girl doll called Daisy May. He had a very quiet cultured voice and would ask her name to which she replied in a whisper - my name's Daisy May. He also had a dog doll and a live white terrier dog called Micky. He would tell the dog to be quiet and the real dog would mouth (whilst the vent did the words) - 'Drop dead'. Classic! I shall go to sleep now with such memories chasing around in my head. Sweet dreams cass and all
