Partition Magic is a commonly used piece of software, but I have no experience with it, myself.
Your XP system probably has one large NTFS partition and you will require partition magic or similar to reduce the partition to enable you to create a second partition. PM runs in windows and is very easy to use plus is readily available as warez. If you have free space on your hard drive use XP's disk manager to create/format a new partition. You cannot resize a partition with disk manager. If you are starting from scratch you can use fdisk on a windows 98 start-up disk or just create partitions when you setup the OS.
