I have 11 of the 13 'extra' letters from the asterisked clues but still cannot decipher the name of the author.

Could someone please confirm the letters I have and tell me if the name is just the author's surname?

Hi Mampara, it's christian name and surname, I'm afraid. The letters are
ONAAM-UR-SET-
so you need to look again at the F in 36dn, I presume. It is a hidden clue, but I could only find it with an extra letter on the end in Chambers
