The planet earth was nearing its final stages of existence after being hit by a meteor and you are one of the few survivors picked as crew for a spacecraft that will be going on a long 4 year space voyage to a star that has been proved to have an earth like planet nearby. Now the earth will blow up soon after you leave it and you'll never see it again. Apart from the obvious photos and video footage what things, items or possessions would you take from earth to remind you of home and to show future generations would you take with you and why?

Actually Answerprancer's inspired me... I'd probably take a vast quantity of toilet roll with me.
My iPod and its charger.

Having said that, though, if I was about to board a spacecraft which could reach another star in 4 years, technology would have already advanced so far that the meteor would have never made it through the solar system's defence grid...

Please excuse my lack of knowledge MarkRae.
Might have been the winning Mayan side that was executed, so they'd get to the gods sooner. On second thoughts, though, they might just have used a regular ball for the actual game. But apparently there are records of an intertribal version of polo using heads. Also, 'The Bowler' in Mystery Men used one.

Don't know if you really need to stuff your spacecraft with loo paper; water (as in Arab loos) and nice warm air (as in Japanese ones) would probably do.
