Audio streaming

Does anyone know what the actual difference between audio streaming and http streaming is? I want to allow visitors to my site to be able to listen to music (that I produce and hold rights to) without having to download a file first ie listen while download - how is this possible?

Can't you just use an "embed" tag like they do here:
http://www.putfile.com/media.php?n=jackson53

That'd be MUCH more simple :-)
