lucid dreams
5 Answers
ive seen a few posts about dreams flying around recently, so i thought i'd ask, has anyone had a lucid dream before? does anyone believe in it?
I have, but only once or twice. the one i really remember was when i dreamt i was in the middle of a city, and there were armed guards, not sure if they were police, making use line up to go into an armoured truck to be driven away. as im standing in line, i think to myself "hang on, if this is a dream, i can do anything i want!" so i thought of the most ridiculous thing going, and dreamt i had an M16 in my hand, suddenly i did! then proceeded to kill all the guards and leg it! all the while fully conscious that this was all a dream anyway!
of course, maybe that isnt lucid dreaming, perhaps one too many games and a highly vivid imagination!

In the dream My nan was showing me the home she was in, I found it difficult to understand her, she was having trouble walking, using a frame, then she sat down, Then I looked to the right and saw her lying down with a bright powerful bluish light, the light came out of her body and slowly went up, I felt shocked by this and said wow she has gone, I then turned around and saw she was no longer sitting down.
I turned around to see a car leaving with a youngish girl (of about 16) sitting in the back staring at me, I knew it was her but she was dressed very old fashioned (30's style) she didnt say anything, just looked and the car drove away, I woke up with a jump after this then a few mins later my alarm went off.
It was very vivid and I thought nothing of it until my mom phoned me on wednesday and said that my nan had died, I was shocked and said "when did she die?" she replied "monday morning very early" it was a bit spooky!

I have them and they normally involve me going abroad and being in said country and not having my passport and then I start saying well I haven't got one and then my subconcious kicks in and starts telling me I do have one and then I realise I am dreaming and panic is over and I can enjoy the delights of Rome. I also regularly have exhausting running dreams and when they get too hectic they become lucid dreams but I manage to wake myself from them.
There's nothing particularly useful in lucid dreams as once you realise you're dreaming you're still at the mercy of that dream environment and although you become powerful can't change the rest of it. I've read of all sorts of lessons in cultivating them but have yet to find any practical benefit from any, having tried all the ideas I can in them.

I believe in it. It is scientifically proven...
I have been trying to have a lucid dream for under a week, now. No success, however for the first time in my life, I was able to have four dreams and remember them all straight away. Last night, I thought I had a dream, but the second I was aware of it, I woke up.
I know I'm in a dream in all of my dreams, it just doesn't occur to me. Just as often as you would think about you are alive.
" Oh, wait, I'm in a dream..."
POOF! I wake up...
Darn it, I need to stay in the dream.
I have researched lucid dreaming and am now very interested...
Sorry it's about 3 years too late...
