MM Links Solutions February 2010 [Week 3]

This third week in the reign of “Prince Philip” (aka centrino) went with a holiday theme entitled “Home and Away”, where he chose the following Links:

Beach TOWEL
Sand DUNE
Lock GATE
Boat HOOK

In the game that followed, there was no keeping Strix out of the scoring, but there could be a new star appearing on the horizon! Before we look at those results, I feel I must point out that jobjockey (and lately kawakiri) continues to offer up three-letter predictions ~ which are too short! The MINIMUM word length permitted is FOUR letters.

In the early scramble, tearinghair opened a LOCK GATE to let TWO POINTS trickle through and she was followed by evsajo swinging her BOAT HOOK for another TWO POINTS! The next seven entries rushed through in record time, but it took the 13th Entry (which proved lucky for jan1956) who found SAND DUNE (supported by a prompt Lock Gate) for an impressive FOUR POINTS! As the clock registered just 09.03, the unstoppable Strix notched up yet another Two Points for Lock Gate.

With three hits uncovered, the clock ticked on as entrants came and went with scant reward for their efforts until self-confessed “canal supporter” and newcomer rockfordill brought a BEACH TOWEL for lounging on the Sand Dunes and Lock Gate (for good measure) to score another FOUR POINTS! I feel that this degree of success just edges jan1956 for the coveted title of HOT SHOT OF THE WEEK.
*** Let trumpets sound and canons roar ***
*** And the population cry “Encore”! ***

Thereafter, only single points were scored by wickedtongue, middlestump, Mr Ont-ice, Eiggam & twix123 to close off a well attended contest with a total of 43 entrants!

We still have Strix and middlestump as the only entrants to have scored on all three weeks so far. Next week will bring the finale of a keenly fought contest ~ but who will pick up the March MM Crown?

I read it the same as you Dusty, that is Rockfordil is Hot Shot of the week, so I think Jan and Rockfordil should be joint Hot shots. Congrats to them both.
