£10,000 to blow
57 Answers
If you were given £10,000 to blow, what would you spend it on ?
You could buy some Globetrotter luggage, or a wildly expensive handbag, or you could enter the World Series of Poker (in case redhelen comes on this thread).
But ... you have to blow the money.
Anything deemed sensible, like putting it towards the mortgage, or paying off a loan, or paying for non-cosmetic medical treatment ...
... and you don't get the money !

Well goggerjayne your Q as just spooked me, really! no joking, i have £10000 and i'm not just bragging ok. let me explain, 5 years ago my wife got the big C now she has been in the clear since but was allways told it can return, so for five years i've been thinking shall i pay my mortgage off as i have only a small amount to clear, or give her the holiday of a lifetime, now i.ve hung on to these funds all this time not knowing what to do so now i ask you what should i do?
snags ...
This is more what I had in mind:

WILL ... great that your wife is in the clear. I hope they give her periodical scans so that they can spot it early if any cells reappear.
The best advice has to be to use the money wisely (of course).
But hey ... if your mortgage is small, and you can comfortably keep paying it, then why not enjoy yourselves?
But how would you present such a holiday? Not on the basis that you are making the most of it while your wife is still able to enjoy it. Thankfully, it sounds like that is not necessary, and your wife has been "cured" (subject to maybe needing bits of treatment to keep on top of it in the future).
Instead, think of it as a celebration. You must have been through a worrying time together, but things have worked out well ... so, go celebrate !
