This is an interesting question and I will follow the thread with curiosity. For those who don't know, a mystery traveller is much like a mystery shopper: He/she is working for someone doing research into the shop/hotel/location/airline/whatever, often even the actual establishment/company itself who want to know how staff perform, etc. The mystery agent will have instructions to present certain scenarios to test the system and record and report.
I would suggest the way forward is to apply for a job as a market researcher - stopping people in the street with surveys and the like.
Once they know you are reliable they will consider you for any travel assignments that come up.
It's not going to be a job in its own right.
Or get a job as a travel journalist.
