Would you do if they committed a crime...
I mean.. a hideous crime.. like an armed robbery or something (not rape or murder.. dont even want to go there!!)

If you knew they had committed it - what would you do
1) Dob them in to the Police
2) Keep quiet and let them get away with it?

Just curious... lets discuss!

Unfortunately I would report her to the police.............but as she's been brought up so well I wouldn't expect the situation to arise :-)
if it was armed robbery i would want my cut
Nosha....good question and should get some interesting answers as to, for example, if you are a scouser, Catholic or subscribe to "he/she's "family"

Me ? I would shop them.....smartish.
keep schtumm....

But if they raped or murdered...no.
Whats being a catholic to do with this Q
Oi Sqad...what has being Catholic got to do with this?
I don't have kids, but would like to think that if i did they would never do such a thing, but if they did I would shop them.

I heard on the radio a few months back about a mother who heard her son bragging about a serious assault he and his brother had been involved in. She shopped them both. I was full of admiration for her; what an awful decision to have to make.
ummmm... you'd keep schtumm for Armed Robbery?

ummmm what if the crime was a violent burglary and someone was hurt (not killed)...
Interesting to know where one would draw the line really.. and what if they went on to commit another crime after the first... which could have been prevented.

Yes Barmaid I heard the same one I think.. her sons now dont speak to her.. and she met up with the inured victim.
She reckoned despite her sons not talking to her - she would do the same again...
I thin you have to be careful.. as a person is unlikely to go out having never committed a crime and do something awful.. so they are likely to have a history - which if left could get worse and worse and lead to murder or something awful!
oooo a toughy, and I can honestly say I wouldn't know!

My gut reaction would be to shop them, but underneath that is thee desire to protect your own child.

Hope I never have to face such a situation.
Sorry to admit....life is violent.

No Snags....I wouldn't grass on a family member. Unless they committed the above. Which they wouldn't.....

Armed robbery...they wouldn't do that either....
Shop them .
Was it just them and you who knew about this?
Or did the owner/s of the shop or whatever know about it, too.
Either way,
I suppose I'd have them sent to the police as it would be what they deserve.
Becasue if it was an adult, they wouldn't be let off or anything, so why should a kid?
That's my opinion.
I'd make 'em hand themselves in. I'd support them during the legal process, but also explain that they made their bed, they gotta lie in it.
