Orgasm to become pregnant

Does the female of the human species have to orgasm in order to get pregnant. Reason i ask is because some Attenborough programme (BBC a few years ago) mentioned it and so did Makosi (of all people) when she pretended she was pregnant on big brother.

No it is not necessary - many women report not having their first 'proper' orgasm until their 30s or 40s!

I think the theory has something to do with the vaginal and uterine contractions during orgasm, which 'suck' the semen through the cervix and therefore give a higher chance of fertilisation.

I doubt if all the young mothers in the world were having mind-blowing orgasms in perhaps their first sexual encounter with a clumsy young man!

Since Makosi is supposedly a nurse (albeit cardiac) she appears to be surprisingly na�ve about the human body e.g. asking for a home pregnancy test within 24 hours of her possibly conceiving.

 i've never made a  woman orgasm in my life and i've got 3 kids.....hee hee!!

jkkerr is right, it can help but so can lying on your back with a pillow under your bum for 20 mins or so after sex as some men can produce poor swimmers. Plus you get waited on I used to get my book and a cup of tea (with a straw) and the pillow adjusted when I needed.

Just a quick point maximo - IVF stands for in-vitro-fretilaisation. Ie the firtilisation take place in a glass container - practically speaking - out side of the body.

Yes i know Hamish, I was talking about after the fertilized egg is placed inside the womb. Sorry if that wasn't clear ! That said, my answer stays the same. Having an orgasm might help as has been suggested, but it certainly is not necessary.
