My daughter has got a problem with her laptop she cannot view msn or certain web pages pages because it says not supported by java we have clicked on java icon in control panel and all seems of ok also clicked on tools then advanced but its the java is not therethen we went in to addons and its there and enabled We then tested java and says she has the lastest version installed, then she tried uninstalling and then downloaded again but still the same think we have tried everything we have read on the internet any ideas. thanks

Not sure. Maybe it is the web pages not adhering to the standard. Or maybe it is your Internet Client.

Out of interest which programme do you use to view the Internet ? Is it at the latest version ?
I doubt if MSN uses Java as MSN is Microsoft and they tend to keep away from Java.

You sure it is not JavaScript (which is a totally different thing)?

Not sure confused now she cannot sign in msn just blank page and example of viewing internet Argos page and this said your computer does not support java sorry thought java was the same as javescript.
I think you may have browser settings locked down too hard.
You need Browser settings checking. IE is Tools/Internet Options/Security Tab ... check set to default level for a start!
You also need to check cookies are enabled against that site..,. Enter them in and "allow" them. Clear out all old cookies first.
If you are using a different browser (like Firefox) report back here.
