Cars & heavy buses make my lungs go aching. They literally suffer from the air pollution. What can be done to prevent the lungs from being swept away by the pollution, resulting from the transport gas emittions?

Move away from the cities and into the countryside where there are fewer cars.

I have asthma and emphysema and my lungs do not EVER ache because of traffic emissions even in the most densely populated cities nearby. Then again the fuel used in vehicles in the UK is strictly regulated and you sound like you may be living in a country other than this one.
