If they're still there, check that you've actually subscribed to an appropriate filter list. Go to Tools > Adblock Plus Preferences. Under 'Filter Rule' you should see the name of the list (or lists) which you're subscribed to. If there's nothing there, or you simply want to add a filter which will do the job better than your existing filter does on its own, click Filter > Add Filter Subscription and select a suitable subscription. I use 'Morpheus Rus List + Easylist' (because I visit a lot of sites based in Eastern Europe). You might find 'List FR (France) + Easylist' more appropriate for your browsing habits (but I've not tested it to see whether it blocks AB's ads).
If 'Adblock Preferences' doesn't even appear under 'Tools', the add-on hasn't installed. Try reinstalling it.
If Adblock seems to be present, together with a valid subscription, check that it's enabled. Click 'Options' (within Adblock Plus Preferences) and check that there's a tick alongside 'Enable Adblock Plus'.
