Another Bus story

http://www.dailymail....girls-wear-hijab.html

I wonder if the police would put officers on board the school bus, if a group of school children were bulling another pupil, because he was wearing the wrong make of trainer?

What is wrong in these girls removing their veils, before boarding the bus?

aog this question is low even by your own filthy racist standards. your family must be so ashamed of you.
They weren't wearing veils, AOG - they were wearing headscarfs - and that's no different to any other kid wearing a hat - so why suggest they remove them before boarding the bus?
aog, replace bus wi pub and hijab wi army uniform and then reflect on this question you posted http://www.theanswerb.../Question832219.html, would you have expected the soldiers to have changed into civvies before going to the pub?
Surey everyone should take of their clothes in case they encounter militant nudists?

Passage from the report:

/// Young girls have claimed they are being bullied on board for dressing in the traditional veil which covers the head. ///

Dictionary definition:

/// Hijab---The headscarf worn by Muslim women, sometimes including a veil that covers the face except for the eyes.///

Since you have got the first part of your answer wrong, I will now address the rest.

Firstly I agree it is no different to any other kid wearing a hat, but the whole point of the trouble on the bus, was because these girls wore the Hijab/Veil (call it what you may).

While in no way condoning this behaviour, these are kids and will focus their bulling attention on anyone who doesn't follow the rest of the sheep (a little like the treatment I get from some juveniles on this site ).

Why do I suggest they remove them before boarding the bus?

It would be one way to alleviate this bulling, or they could just do as I do, ignore the idiots and carry on as usual.
"While in no way condoning this behaviour, these are kids and will focus their bulling attention on anyone who doesn't follow the rest of the sheep (a little like the treatment I get from some juveniles on this site )."

You concentrate on stories involving folk who are non-white or Muslims, are you not one of the sheep too?
Despite your dictionary definition, AOG, I doubt there are many who would call a head covering such as the one shown in your link, a 'veil'. You and your favourite newspaper certainly speak the same language. :o)

Get real naomi24

If it is good enough to be entered as a dictionary definition, then I see no reason why the Daily Mail and myself can't use the term, just because you disagree.
Actually, AOG, I think it's you who needs to get real. Take a look at this:

http://i.dailymail.co...00578-867_468x504.jpg

I haven't seen the article this picture came with, but I'm willing to bet the Mail didn't refer to the headgear worn here as a veil - and neither would you - and yet it's astonishing similar to that shown in your original link. The term has been used simply because it applies to Muslims. Make no mistake - I detest all religion and would rather all religious symbols be removed from schools, but it's quite clear in this case that the terminology has been applied simply to create antagonism.
Hijab is the headscarf, the face veil is a nikab - hijab is becoming used for any muslim head covering - as has been said already, anyone (including my granny or my mum) could be wearing a headscarf.
Here's an even better link AOG - the queen on a visit to a mosque - and never a mention of the 'veil' she is wearing. Funny how that turned out to be a scarf, isn't it.

I suppose applying double standards is one way to get your point across - until others spot your intention.
