Smell in fridge

I've heard that cut lemons or bicard of soda will take musty smells out of a fridge but do they also work on garlic smells?  I've been storing smoked garlic in a fridge in our garage for a few weeks and the smell is shocking (and it's contaminated the other food).

Thanks

try wiping over fridge with a half cut lemon
I have always been told you should never ever leave an lemon in the fridge which isn't whole. The acid in the lemon can ruin the element in the fridge and especially not wrapped in foil. I was told this by someone who had repaired a lot of fridges in his time, so I totally trust it. Onlly ever have it in the fridge if it's wrapped tightly in a plastic bag.
I have a little plastic egg in my fridge which has got something inside that takes the smell out of my fridge. I bought it in Tesco and it last about 2 months.
I put some charcoal in a small bowl or container in the fridge and it gets rid of all smells in a few hours.
