AVG Update

I have tried several times without success to update my AVG. Each time I end only being able to buy the full version. What am I missing? TIa

Are you sure you downloaded the free version, and not the trial version

What do you mean by "update".
Updating the databases are free to AVG free users.
Ending a trial period with the paid version of AVG and having to now buy it, is a different matter.

Thanks folks. I have had the free version for some time now. Perhaps I misunderstood the 'update', which I gather applies only to the earlier free version.

I'm getting the same thing. I've had the free version since I got the machine six months ago.

You get an update reminder when you start up, and there's a choice of two update buttons - one for the free and one for the paid. Click the free one and, as beeseejay says, it takes you to the paid for page.

I'm ignoring it for now because I reckon it's just a sakes tactic.
