Where is the ODBII socket on an '02 Peugeot 307?
I had heard it was under the rubber oddment mat in front of the gear shift, this doesn't appear to be the case with my 2.0HDi model.

I can't answer for that specific car but you should be able to access the socket within arms reach of the drivers seat, and no tools should be required.
Under the handbrake, by the gearshift, under the steering cowl, behind the ashtray... are common places.

After a good search it's not in any of those locations.

Turns out that the OBD socket is located behind a fascia panel to the right of the steering wheel. It also turns out that its not OBDII at all, its similar but about half the size.
