Vauxhall Corsa advert
I would like to complain about this advert to the correct authorities but don't know how to go about it.
The song that is used in this advert is called 'Run' by Gnarls Barkley and I really can't understand why this was chosen for the advert.
Yeah it's still the same
Can't you feel the pain
When the needle hits the vein
Ain't nothing like the real thing.
Love Gnarls and the song, but what on earth has it got to do with cars?
Am I overreacting here and if you think I should complain about it, do you know who I direct my complaint to.
Thanks

Perhaps I didn't put my question clearly enough.
What I am saying is are the songlyrics suitable i.e 'When the needle hits the vein' and what has it got to do with cars.
I really can't think why you would say I should write to the marketing director as surely no-one goes to buy a car because they like or dislike the music in the advert?
I understand that music in an ad makes it more interesting but surely they could find something that doesn't have needle and vein in the lyrics.

I'm probably too late to add to this now but I have to ask, 'Why don't some of you read the questions properly?'
another-view, it was the WORDS of the song that didn't fit i.e 'When the needle hits the vein' and please don't be rude telling me to get a life.
You see, this to me suggests someone taking drugs whereas the adverts you mention don't have serious connotations.

It sound like this has really got to you, so go with your instinct and complain. In the complaint quote the lyrics and give the reasons why you think they are not appropriate. Advertisers have to follow strict guidelines. I’d like to think that every complaint is looked into, but I somehow doubt it. But hey what have you got to lose.
I complained last year about having a little girl in an advert for slimming pills!?! I mean what sort of message is being given out there? I’m not sure if this complaint had an impact, but I have noticed that the advert that is on TV now for the same product doesn’t have a little girl in it!!
