I asked this question last week and got a few answers but alas no solution, my problem is on the dropdown menu on the title bar it gives a list of the sites I have called up, under that it gives a list of my favorites. On this history menu there is a small symbol like a "v" and when I click that it expands the list, at the right hand side of each site a red "X" delete sign appears if I click to delete it deletes but when I close the dropdown menu and open it up again they all reappear. One of the answers I got last week was to download Advanced System Care from www,iobot.com which I did but it did not solve my problem, please help.

on the google toolbar there is a blue wrench untick the search history afterwards retick it
if you mean the Firefox smart location bar then Tools>Options>Privacy includes (in the lower half) the setting for that bar where you can choose between History and Bookmarks / History / Bookmarks / Nothing.
Question Author
When I tick the wrench a window opens "toolbar options" what do I do then?

Untick Save Search History on My Computer

When I click search a new google window appears I cannot find any other search maybe I'm missing something an please don't say a brain.
what comes up when you click the blue wrench?
Do not click search.

Look along the toolbar - you will see a blue spanner

Click on the spanner and a window will open. Look for Save Search History on My Computer and remove the tick.

Thank you lslowery for your patience, I think a.guest may have something.
If you`ve found the part suggested, move your arrow over to a little red X and click it on all of the items in the drop down menu in turn, and they will go.
Don`t forget to go back and click the tick again to reset.

I clicked each one but they reappeared when I clicked the dropdown menu.
