No brush for egg wash - what to use?

I have lost my brush I use for egg wash.
I have no time to go to the shops and buy another one.
Does anybody have a suggestion what else I could use instead of a brush? I wondered about maybe scrunching up kitchen roll and using that? I have no other brush suitable in the house.

what are you covering? if just a flat pie top then use a spoon to get it on and the back of spoom to spread

My daughters second birthday party tomorrow and am making cheesy puff pastry swirls. Will definately go with the spoon idea - much less messy than my kitchen roll idea!

make up brush, make sure its new and washed several times

Just use clean fingers, works as well as anything!.............

I recently bought a couple of these new silicon pastry brushes to coat pastry. They're fantastic and don't shed bristles as the "bristles" are part of the brush itself. I've never found anything easier to clean either and they're guaranteed for a lifetime. I've chucked all my bristled pastry brushes.
