No cold water

Any ideas why i dont have any cold water in my upstairs bathroom, none coming from the taps or in the toilet cistern?

i have hot water in the bathroom and hot and cold downstairs! i dont under stand! my bloke is away and i cat get hold of my dad to ask him!

are you getting any at all? it could be air lock in the cold water system ( separate from the hot generally unlesss it is after a mixer ). If it is a trickle try holding your hand over the tap and turning on full, then releasing it to free up the air lock.

im not getting any at all upstairs not even a trickle! there was a trickle now there is nothing!

under the sink in the kitchen there is a tap i turned that off yesterday to stop the clod water as there was a leak under the sink, could this have anything to do with it?

your cold water stop ****, that would be the reason, turn it back on if you have mended the leak.

Yeah i think so just spoke to my dad and he told me that i turned the wrong one off! the mains one rather that the isolator for the washing machine!

i turned the mains back on i guess ill just have to adjust it so that i get the right pressure now?

ou should b able to run it trouh for a bit and the pressure will equalise.

Thanks ICEMANSAV! looks like i was jsut being a bit girlie! better get used to dealing with house related problems! we only moved in on sat but ive been on my own since monday because my other half has gone on a course! thanks for putting my mind to rest! so long as i dont flood the place ill be fine!

Just to add to the above went home at lunch time still no water, my dad came round to have a look, still no joy have had to get my rental company to call a plumber now! so hopefull tonight i will be able to go to the loo!

just a quick thought if it is on a meter, it hasn't been disconnected from the previous tennants has it, and the water you had was that left in the system? Let me know how you get on, best of luck!

i dont think the meter has been turned off we moved in on sat and the problem only occured last night but i have hot and cold water downstairs and hot in the bathroom but no cold!

I think it will be air lock for the upstairs system, a plumber will be able to flush the system through. sorry for any duff advice.

No duff advise at all. i tried what you said about holding the tap.. but to no avail. but you have been very helpfull!

i hope he can fix it!
