The ex and impending social situation

I am still in hung up my ex and we work together -  so I can't get away from him. I HAD been getting on ok and felt I was, slowly, getting over it, however...

We have out work summer social tomorrow thus, I have to spend the whole day with him. Help! Eariler this week he contacted me re. some things of mine he found at his flat. He was quite friendly, which he's not been at all since we split. I am reading all sorts in to this and am hopeful he might be having second thoughts.

Am I kidding myself and what's the best way to deal with spending the whole day with him tomorrow, where the drinks will be flowing??

If I were in your position I would do my very best to play it cool. Be pleasant but don't stand there watching him or trying to talk to him all night. Make sure you don't get too drunk as your likely to say things you may regret the next morning and if he suggests anything to you about getting back togethe or so on tell him to speak to you the following day (when you know he hasnt had a little bit too much alcohol and will mean what he says).

Be pleasant and professional and treat him like any other work colleague.

Make sure you enjoy yourself with your own friends and try not to give him a second thought.

I think you need to be honest with yourself, bowannabow.  Decide if you want to try again with him, and, if so, talk to him when you are alone. Or, face up to the fact that you have split up and leave the past behind.

Don't go back to his place or yours!!!!!! Remember sex and love are not the same thing. Some people give sex to get love. some give love to get sex.   Good Luck :-)
