I thought the pop up's had gone from AB, yet today my pop-up-stopper is going absolutely potty. Why do we need these? Aren't they almost as detestable as spam? Do they really bring in that much revenue, after all most people must just close them!

I suggest you try finding out how many spyware progs are running on your puter www.lavasoft.nu This site provides ADAware prog that can rid your puter of all spyware which can allow popups through. Works for me :)

Check out your system for spybots, I would not be using Ad-Aware as suggested by others, the last update for that was 24 September. Try SpyBot S & D from http://security.kolla.de, it is also freeware and is updated very regularly, the lastest update was 19 Jan or there abouts. Have you deleted all your temporary internet files, you may have received a malicious bit of ad ware that is busy phoning home saying send more ads Geoff

Thanks for all the suggestions, but it was definately AB that was causing pop-ups. I haven't installed anything new on my PC in over a week, all other sites (that are normally pop-up free) that i visited yesterday were fine too. It was only when browsing or refreshing AB pages that my pop-up stopper kept telling me that a window had tried to appear. Normally when i post on AB, i have to hold down Ctrl to bypass the pop-up stopper and enable me to post. Yesterday when i did that, a survey about colds kept popping up with my reply box. This was at about 7pm on 20/01/03. When i checked back later that evening, the pop-ups had stopped, and i've had none today either. Funny that, isn't it.

The AB demon is adviva but if you don't allow their cookie then AB becomes real sluggish. Why not change the buzz sound (wav) in your popupstopper for something quieter or even silent?

Phew, i was even beginning to think i had imagined the whole thing as none of you had suffered from popupitis. Alas, today they are back. Where do you buy your cold remedies from? The nearest place that's open, that's where. That's a muntingly good idea xyzzy, i could change the wav for something that will make me smile instead of frown. I'm sure i've got some Office wavs that i downloaded somewhere...

I had that cold survey come up every time I changed pages on AB. Very, very annoying. A few minutes ago I filled it in with a load of cr*p and haven't seen it since.
