I have just bought a ipod classic and was wondering if anyone could reccomend a way I could transfer DVD's onto it.
I have been told that there are lots of free downloads out there, but would like to use one that has been tried and tested.
I'm using Window XP Media Centre Edition Service Pack 2.
Cheers in advance.

Rather stupidly, it is breaking the law to view your legally bought DVDs on your legally bought iPod, and that is why Apple does not tell you how to do it.

I did read somewhere that handbreak is for Macs can I still use it on a PC running windows??
It used to be, but if you go to download from that site you'll see that there is a Windows version too (and a GNU/Linux version).
You can use Tipard DVD to iPod Converter:
http://www.tipard.com...o-ipod-converter.html
It can easily convert DVD to MP4, H.264 video formats and audio MP3, M4A and AAC without any loss quality of sound and image.
It also has strong editing functions of video trimming, video cropping, video joinning and video effecting. You can also capture your favorite pictures when you preview.
It is easy to use. Just few clicks are OK.
Step 1: Add DVD
Step 2: set the output settings.
Step 3: click "start" to convert
Hope it helpful for you.
