Wheel locking

Hi All
I have a Honda CRV and twice this year on a very cold morning, one wheel has refused to move and I end up having to drag the car off the drive with the wheel skidding across it!
I took it Honda who said it was a build up of dust in the pads and cleaned them and advised new pads and discs. Sorted!
But it happened again this morning.
It's booked into Honda again next week but I am worried it will happen again before that.
Does anyone know what is causing this, how I can stop and generally any info

Surely it is a handbrake wheel sticking on?
New pads and discs seems a bit exorbitant and over-the-top to fix that problem.

Build up of dust in the pads ?
Replace discs and pads ? Pads, maybe, but the discs should be OK.
It seems as if the brake caliper is sticking.

Possibility that some water may have got into your brake fluid? If it's been cold at night, the ice may have forced the pads/shoes out sufficiently to have caused the seizure?

Hi, more often water gets into the rear drum ( If it's a drum) If a disk as you say, the damp between the disk & pad freeze up in-turn wheels lock, regards what Honda has stated, I cannot see that as the pads are open to the elements the dust in-turn should be blown out of the caliper area, another source of this problem in the Piston within the caliper, when you depress the brake the piston pushes the pad against the disk,there could possibly be a rust spot on the circumference of the piston stopping the piston from returning.

Sounds very much like the handbrake freezing and if it is I would have a really good go at the garage!!
