okay, I'm going to waffle on a bit about an old problem. please bear with me ;o)

idiot at work. we fell out many times and I always smoothed things over to keep the peace, and for the sake of them team. 2 years ago he blew a gasket and screamed in my face that he "just didn't like me" and I was very upset. we have barely spoken since, only about work issues and as briefly as possible.

I've now been asked (again, by my boss and a colleague) to let it go, and start talking to him again. I think he should have apologised 2 years ago for being an ar5e. I'm not interested in being nice to him and would only be doing this for the sake of the team, but I really do despise him. very much!

what do you think?

I'm not in the police, suzie. my boss is female and this isn't a simple male/female power thing.

but obviously I am better than him ;o)
I work in police stations Sukie,I haven't seen anything like that,I think it does more in rural stations, the Met is too big and politically correct to have that sort of thing go on.
its suzie!!!!! riks
obviously you are better than him sara! , just do what your instincts tell u, tell ur boss to ask him to apologise to you and call a truce there and then in front of the boss.
your part of a team sara and if your boss thinks its important that hatchets are buried, you must do it or suffer the consequences if the boss has to choose between you. It's part of the job to gel with the team rather than split the team with some siding with you. It is a hard pill to swallow but you must at least be civil.

Smile & tell your boss you agree, shake hands even - if you must, (thinking of your salary). Civility you can show (for the teams sake) but more than that keep suppressed.
Sorry Suzie,I cant see who I am replying to when typing.
