Lost some freeview channels.
3 Answers
Hi I have been retuning my Samsung 42"with built in freeview tv and have lost several freeview channels. Not only have the channels gone but also the numbers have left the system as well i.e. Tv goes from 11 to 13 missing out 12 completely. This is the same with 4 others. No amount of retuning will bring them back .Can anyone suggest a remedy.Thanks.

I have also experienced this, it simply means that when you scanned for available frequencies and channels, your set could not find, on these occasions, what it found before. I have an indoor loft aerial, not ideal I know, but when reception is poor, I have sometimes only picked up about 20 channels, whereas at times of good reception I can regularly receive 88. Only answer is to rescan at another time, or upgrade your aerial/distribution system.
Unplug the antenna
Do a complete scan (NOT an add channels scan)
Once it completes and finds nothing, plug antenna and rescan again.
That's it.
Any shortage of channels ... it's your antenna, or the signal is split off somewhere without a proper amp.
Best setup is a good quality antenna and masthead amp.
If in a fringe area, you will need a high-gain antenna, such as a Triax 52 element, or Yagi (fringe type)
