If someone is listed as living at your house who has a bad credit rating then some companies will take this into consideration when anyone at that address wants to do business with them. This is actually personal experience. Both DH and I had excellent reports at experian but the electoral roll had ex tenants of ours still listed as living at the house who had a poor (diabolical actually) credit history. and this affected, not our credit rating, but the decisions made by some companies.
sadly some companies do blacklist certain postcodes without investigating anything about an individual's rating which could be affecting you too, although I think that this is less common now as companies need the business.
