Neighbour dispute.

This problem has been going on since last October.
A week ago, I sent my next door neighbour a recorded delivery letter, to say that he had four weeks written notice, before I got a court order under the Neighbouring Lands Act, 1992.

I saw him today, and he told me he had been advised to ignore my letter to him, as his name was not Bryant (I have just discovered it is Bryan).

My question is - He signed for delivery of the letter. He opened and read it -(otherwise he wouldn't have known it was from me).

Is he breaking any law by doing this?
And, does anyone know what my position now is - if indeed it has changed at all?

Is there a problem with sending him another letter, this time correctly addressed?

One wonders on what basis you believe he may have broken the law - opening mail wrongly addressed to him but at the correct address? - I hardly think so - happens to me all the time.
If whatever it is has been hanging around since last October without resolution, presumably an extra week to correctly give him the 4 weeks notice before something dastardly happens to him isn't going to be such a big deal?

This is too long and complicated to try to explain it all here.

I had to get the police to the man after suffering 18 months of him shouting abuse and threats at us through the party wall of his house and ours. (We still don't know why he did it).
During that time, I was having to knock on his door to ask him to trim back a climbing plant which he was growing up our extension side wall, and going under our tiles.
In October, it all came to a head, and I discovered he had screwed a trellis to our wall.
That was when I first informed him that I wanted the plant and trellis removing.
To which he replied that he would do so when I removed our TV aerial, as the birds were sitting on it and the droppings were damaging his roof.
I still can't decide if the man is mentally deranged, or if he is just a loud mouthed evil little man.

I thought it was rubbish regarding him ignoring the wrongly named letter. But, I just wanted to check to make sure.
